The reason that nobody else has reviewed THE BLUE BIRD TAVERN is that it is so good we don't want anybody ruin it! Best crab cake east of the Bay Bridge, if not in the whole state. Don't tell anybody about THE BLUE BIRD......

A very nice and CLEAN dive bar. Very nice old man running the place. Food was regular but very very good for the price.

I had one of the best times here!!! I was in MD for family and my cousin took my sister, aunt, and myself here and we had shots, laughs, and captured amazing memories... The bartenders were great! The music was kewl, and the drinks was going!!! I will definitely be back!!!

Friendly locals bar. A few pool tables and a jukebox. Beer and bourbon selection is pretty decent. CASH ONLY and the ATM inside charges a fee.

This place is perfect! My 20 something year old self would of killed to live near a bar like this. We came in looking for food and a good drink, and we got it. We had fried oysters and rockfish and chips (I substituted the regular fries for shoestring). That was the best fish and chips I’ve had in a really long time, not to mention they didn’t skimp on the fried oysters, that were also delicious. I already know some of the regular’s names and a couple of the bartender’s and can’t wait to go back.

My parents met at Washington college and use to go to the bluebird. Brought back alot of wonderful memories

Went in there on a Tuesday night which is Wings night for 75-cent of wing. Had a couple of drinks with my buddy had some wings and a very good time. I hear they have lots of other good food so we will have to go back and try something different. But it's a very nice little bar the bartenders are very friendly nice pool tables. I would definitely recommend trying this place

I came in the establishment just for food. Now I know that this is a bar , but clearly serving food is not important to them. The menu is very slim and filled with a bunch of frozen food items . I tried to play it safe and order a cheese steak, but they were out of cheese steaks , so again I decided to play it safe and just order a bacon cheeseburger. I wasn't surprised when I got the burger and could immediately tell that it was a little frozen beef Pattie that was most likely heated up in the microwave . The French fries that I had to pay extra for were also frozen fries that they bought from some kind of restaurant Depot. Very disappointed .

Blue Bird is your old school dive bar with a hidden secret - a delicious menu. Beer is served in icy mugs; soup is made fresh daily; the sandwiches are hearty. A few tips:- don’t be in a rush: sit at the bar and wait patiently. It’s a small town and people who appear in a rush are “not prioritized”. Sit down and just relax- cash only. But they do have an ATM- the lunch crowd is sizable and diverse- hunting season grows lunch crowd substantially

I'm probably slightly biased because I'm from chestertown, but I love The Bird. Its a dive, a local watering hole but it has it's charm. It does offer pool, and other events on a monthly basis. The food is great and the drinks are moderately priced. They ONLY accept cash, but there is an ATM right next to the bar! And a plus for friendly bartenders.

We were just out for a little drive and ended up in Chestertown. Although I live in Maryland I am not a seafood fan.So we looked for something else and through the reviews landed at the Blue Bird..What a great little place. Do not let the fact that it's not right at the rivers edge deter you. It's not right on the water but it doesn't need to be. The food was phenomenal and the staff incredibly friendly.

Went for a light dinner with 2 adults, 2 kids. Food and prices were good. College reunion there so my teens had a good time people watching. Would go again.

Been to bluebird many times, great atmosphere for college students and the average person! Two pool tables are set up and are used for many different leagues and fundraisers. The food is awesome, i personally the Guide Burger, and I don't know personally about the drinks, but I've heard no complaints!Overall really have enjoyed every visit and have never had a bad visit, even when I lost in a game of pool!

A great place for casual drinks and amazing food. Prices are equally amazing! It is cash only with an ATM inside. Enjoy dinner, a few drinks, and shoot some pool all under one roof. The Bird also hosts karaoke, beer pong tournaments, and other events throughout the year. Atmosphere is dated but warm. Definitely make a stop in if you're in town!

Had one of the best nights here with some friends and coworkers (about 10 years ago). We still talk about it. Glad to see it is still open and doing well.

Good comfort food. Not to crowded. Able to play some pool. Reasonable priced. Does not take credit/debt cards. Small parking lot.
